Outdoor market and music

BANGOR – Cools Sounds concerts will be held 7-8 p.m. Thursdays, June 15-July 20, in Pickering Square. If it rains, the concert will take place under the Pickering Square Parking Garage.

The concerts are an event of the Downtown Bangor Outdoor Market, which will be held 4-8 p.m. Thursdays, June 15-July 20. The market will feature artisans, food vendors and entertainment.

Blueberry products, jewelry, candles, natural body products, paintings, wearable art, pottery, stained glass and home accessories are just a few of the hand-crafted items that will be available for purchase.

The Cool Sounds concert line-up is:

. Queen City Big Band, June 15.

. Aurora Jazz Project, June 22.

. One Five One, June 29, jazz, blues, reggae.

. 195th Maine Army National Guard Band, July 6.

. Evergreen, July 13, a band with elements of bluegrass, folk, blues, country, swing and jazz.

. David Wooley, July 20, a country band.

Concert in the park

ORONO – The Orono Public Library will present its annual Concert in Webster Park at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 15. The concert is free to the public and sponsored by the Friends of the Orono Public Library and the Orono-Old Town Kiwanis.

Julie Monroe is a music teacher for 18 area child care programs. Her band, The Bug Boys, comprises two entomologists – drummer Don Berry, and bass guitarist Clay Kirby. They are joined by professors Jim Artesani and Laura Artesani.

The Friends of the Library will be on hand at the concert selling hotdogs, baked goods and balloons. Proceeds from the sale will benefit library programs. In case of rain the concert will be held Thursday, June 22. Donations of baked goods will be accepted on the day of the concert. For additional information, call the library at 866-5060.
