I admit I was tired at the beginning, but I was all but snoring by the end of the premiere of Bravo’s newest reality show “Work Out.”
Jackie Warner’s gym, Sky Sport and Spa, is in Beverly Hills, Calif. – a place where you are what you look like and being a little crazy is normal.
The show follows the professional and personal life of Warner, who is continuing to build her business. It portrays the ins and outs of what it’s like to be a trainer and a client in one of the elite fitness facilities in the land of fun and sun.
Sky Sport’s client list includes celebrities, entrepreneurs and others who are looking for an elite place to boost their fitness levels.
Client Victoria Fuller, a Playmate, met trainer Rebecca on “The Amazing Race Season 6.”
Rebecca constantly wants attention and uses her looks to get it from anyone that will take notice. Admittedly, she flirts with “girls, guys, grandmas …”
Rebecca’s flirtatious ways are something that Mimi, Warner’s Brazilian girlfriend, takes offense to. Arguments between Warner and the jealous Mimi are highlights throughout the first two shows.
Warner runs a tight ship and operates her business with the thought: “My place, my rules.”
Jackie’s still finding out if recently hired trainer Brian has what it takes and thinks he has a little too much ego – even for L.A.
While I wasn’t motivated in the least to get up out of my chair and use the treadmill that’s now sitting in our basement, I could use a trainer like Erika.
Erika is the total opposite of flirtatious Rebecca and tells her clients that if they’re craving a French fry, it’s all right to give her a call for moral support.
That’s what I need. A trainer that doesn’t mind if I call them when I get the urge to grab a Snickers from the snack machine or to run across the street for a cheeseburger.
For another take on the show, I asked the Man on the Couch for his thoughts. I can’t repeat what he said, but I will let you know he’s not a fan of Sky Sport and Spa, its owner or its trainers.
I will tell you it gets more interesting if you can get past the premiere at 11 p.m. July 19 and tune in to the second episode during its regular 10 p.m. time slot July 25.
