Holbrook rallies in sixth, edges Hampden 11-10

HOLBROOK – Holbrook rallied for a run in the top of the sixth inning to edge Hampden 11-10 in District 3 Little League All-Star baseball action for ages 10-11 Wednesday.

Brody Valley had two singles and two RBIs while Ian Burgess had two singles and one RBI for Holbrook. Josh Theriault added two singles.

For Hampden, Sam Ward hit a three-run homer, doubled, and singled for four RBIs. Eric Hanson tripled and singled. Jordan Hewes had a single and a double. Ryan Flanagan added two singles and an RBI.

Bangor East 11, Bangor West 10

At Holbrook Tuesday, Bangor East scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth just before darkness forced an end to the game.

Ben Mann had a triple, double, and two RBIs for Bangor East. Brian Roulau had a double, a single and three RBIs. Chris Anderson had an RBI double.

Cody Chapman had three singles and two RBIs for Bangor West. Jackson Koch had a triple, single and three RBIs. Kyle Farley and Ron Cook each had two singles.

At Hampden, Fred Knight struck out 11 batters and walked four while pitching a no-hitter and leading Hampden past Glenburn in an elimination game.

Ethan Burke had a double and a single for Hampden while Dakota Duplissie added two singles and an RBI.

Bangor East 14, Holbrook 4

At Bangor East, Kyle Mallory-MacDonald smacked two singles, an RBI double and had two runs scored, and Ellis Throckmorton doubled, tripled and drove in four runs as Bangor East held off Holbrook.

Connor Griffin singled three times with two RBIs, and Justin Scripture and Seth Freudenberger each had two singles and two RBIs. Chris Howat tallied two singles, an RBI and two runs.

Jacob Chapman notched an RBI double and scored two runs, and Adam Patrick added a two-run single for Holbrook

At Brooklin, Oliver Lawson doubled to help lead Coastal over Sunrise.

Jimmy Gray, Schyler VanDerEb and Alec Peasley each tallied a single for the winners.

Brandon Tenry, Curtis Worchester, Chris Chaponis, Zach Perry and Beaver Dublin singled for Sunrise.

At Old Town, Chris Michaud tallied two singles, a double and an RBI and Brian Dunn added two singles and an RBI to lead Old Town over Bangor West.

Garvey Melmed and Steven Vandez each singled twice for Old Town.

Sam Bolduc smacked a triple and Tyler Kenney had a two- run double. Jake Fournier added an RBI double and Justin Ireland chipped in with an RBI single for Bangor West.

Bangor 12, Orono-Veazie 3

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Bangor scored five runs on three hits in the top of the second and held off Orono-Veazie the rest of the way for the win.

Devin Lyshon tallied a triple, double, two singles and drove in three runs for Bangor. Lonnie Hackett doubled and singled, and Brian Higgins added two singes and three RBIs. Nate Lewis chipped in with two singles.

Jason Pulley had an RBI single and a double, and Paul Ohno hit two singles for Orono-Veazie.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Tyler Robinson belted a two-run inside-the-park home run in the top of the ninth to lift Katahdin to the win.

Andy Kay pitched a complete game with 18 strikeouts and tallied two singles. Billy Duffy hit a double and a single and Evan McCarthy added two singles and two RBI.

Matt Lindemann had two singles for Hampden.
