BANGOR – The first Maine location of a nationwide chain of more than 260 battery stores is expected to open this weekend on Bangor Mall Boulevard.

The ceremonial opening of Batteries Plus is scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, July 22. The Bangor franchise, owned by local businessman Jack Rielly, will sell general purpose and specialized batteries and will offer technical services such as reconditioning batteries and rebuilding battery packs.
