ALBANY, N.Y. – The Orrington Little League all-star softball team recorded a 3-1 victory over Swanton, Vt., in the Eastern Regional Tourney for ages 11-12 Wednesday, but didn’t advance out of pool play to the semifinal round.

Orrington finished 3-1 in the tourney while Lincoln, R.I., also finished 3-1 in its pool and gained a semifinal berth by virtue of its 5-0 victory over Maine on Sunday.

Waterford, Conn., gained the other berth in the pool with a 4-0 record. Pequannock, N.J. (4-0) and Brewster, N.Y., (3-1) qualified in the other pool.

Orrington also earned victories in the tourney over Auburn, N.H., (14-0) and Worcester, Mass. (3-2).
