WATERVILLE – Jared Beers, a 2001 Colby College graduate, has been named interim head coach of the Colby men’s cross country/track and field program for the 2006-07 academic year.

Beers has been an assistant coach for the Colby indoor and outdoor track and field teams for the past three years. He was the sprints and hurdles coach, but also helped with recruiting and daily practices.

Beers once held Colby’s 400-meter record during his collegiate career and still is part of the 1,600-meter relay team school record of 3:19.71.
