Stop Mideast killing

While Abraham, a Hebrew portrayed as Bedouin, was passing with his herd through Canaan, his God promised, “… this smiling land of prosperous cities…” to him and his children (the Hebrews). Apparently, “God” never did explain this deal to the Philistines who fought long and hard to hold their land.

About 2,550 years later, in 1947, Jewish refugees from Europe used their influence in the United Nations to have a resolution passed which partitioned Palestine into three entities, a Jewish state, an Arab state and a corpus separatum under international jurisdiction for the entire city of Jerusalem. There has been continuous fighting between the Arabs and Israeli over this matter ever since.

The United States was the first country to recognize Israel and from that date has supported Israel with huge amounts of foreign aid and the most modern weaponry available in the world. As far as this country being “neutral” during all these years; this statement is far off the mark.

To stop the killing, Israel must first restore about a million refugees back to their rightful homes in Israel from which they have been evicted. All of the West Bank lands, the Golan Heights and all Israeli settlements must be evacuated by the Israeli at once. All of Jerusalem which the Israeli have taken over must be returned to the United Nations as an international city. Once these changes are in place, a strong U.N. force should be sent to the area to enforce the provisions of the resolution equitably on both sides. Israelis and Arabs must face realities and be forced to comply with all of the terms of the U.N. resolution; otherwise, the killing will continue.
