Pangburn edges Alexander at Speedway 95

HERMON – Easton’s Chris Pangburn held off Scott Alexander of Glenburn during a green-white-checker-caution flag finish to win the Sportsman Pro Stock feature Saturday night at Speedway 95.

Rob Brideau of Milford finished third, Milo’s John Higgins was fourth, and John Phippen Jr. of Town Hill rounded out the top five.

At Winterport, Al Cormier of Hudson outdueled Bob Cousins of Orono for the top spot in the Super Pro/Pro Final Feature at Winterport Dragway on Sunday.

Wiscasset Raceway

At Wiscasset, Bill Pinkham of Wiscasset passed Richmond’s Casey Nash for the lead on lap 16 and held on for the Late Model Sportsman win.

Puncin St. Clair of Liberty finished second, Allen Moeller Sr. of Dresden was third, Nash finished fourth, and Nick Reno of Bath was fifth.

Oxford Plains Speedway

At Oxford, Norridgewock’s Jeff Taylor scored his 69th career victory and claimed his record ninth championship in the final Pro Stock race at Oxford Plains Speedway as the pro stock division will be combined with the late model division for 2007.

Chuck Colby of Newcastle finished second, Scott King of Livermore Falls was third, fourth was Oxford’s Chris Kennison, and Mexico’s Tommy Tompkins finished fifth.
