Chasse goals lift Warriors Presque Isle teams log sweep

FORT KENT – Nicole Chasse scored the winning goal with 1:38 left in the second overtime to lift Fort Kent past Searsport 3-2 Saturday in schoolgirl soccer action.

Chasse scored an earlier goal for 3-3 Fort Kent and Jamie Pelletier recorded her first varsity goal in the first half. Kelsie Bouchard stopped 16 of 22 shots.

Sarah Bradshaw scored two first-half goals for 0-1 Searsport. Abbie Landmesser and Martha Landmesser each had an assist. Megan Higgins made 18 saves on 29 shots.

Presque Isle 4, MDI 0

At Presque Isle, Angela Norsworthy and Lindsie Lapointe each scored two goals as the Wildcats blanked the Trojans.

Kayla Legassie and Liz Kofstad chipped in with an assist apiece for 4-0 Presque Isle. Molly Hamel and Allisen Donovan combined for two saves on four shots.

Christina McKay stopped 22 of 40 shots for 0-1 MDI.

JV: Presque Isle 4-0

John Bapst 1, Caribou 0

At Caribou, Kristen Willard scored the unassisted winning goal with 55 seconds left in regulation to lead John Bapst of Bangor to the win.

Caroline Cassling and Amber Estes combined to make six saves on nine shots for the 1-0 Crusaders.

Brittany Doak stopped seven of nine shots for 1-2-1 Caribou.

Boys soccer

Presque Isle 3, MDI 1

At Presque Isle, Steve Carmichael scored an unassisted goal with 33:07 left in the first half to help lead Presque Isle to the win over Mount Desert Island.

Parker Hovey and Logan York both added a goal for the 4-0 Wildcats as Warren Zubrick and Russ Mortland each had an assist. Adam Kingsbury made six saves on seven shots.

Naniel Hillard scored with 19 minutes left in the second half on a Jake Merchant assist for the 0-1 Trojans. John Joseph and Jake Minctons combined to stop 20 of 23 shots.

JV: Presque Isle 1-0

Fort Kent 7, Searsport 1

At Fort Kent, Shane Theriault scored two goals and assisted another as the Warriors rolled.

Derek Bonenfant also scored twice for 1-3-1 Fort Kent. Joey Soucy, Drew Blier, and Aaron Paradis each added a goal. Sherman Pelletier provided two assists and Matt Harvey stopped four of seven shots.

Josh Nickerson scored an unassisted goal in the second half for the 0-1 Vikings. Dan Peach turned away 20 of 60 shots.

John Bapst 4, Caribou 2

At Caribou, Andrew Casey scored twice to push John Bapst of Bangor to victory.

Ian Bamford and Casey Hull scored for the 1-0 Crusaders. Chris Smith turned away two of 10 shots.

Jarryd Rossignol and Kyle Corrigan scored for 2-2 Caribou. Chad McCarthy stopped eight of 18 shots.

JV: Caribou 4-0

Bangor Christian 6, Katahdin 2

At Stacyville Friday, Zach Kutz scored three goals and recorded an assist as the Patriots recorded their 19th straight victory, a streak dating back to last season.

Phil Dougherty scored twice for 1-0 Bangor Christian and Jeremy Leong added a goal. Brandon Wilcox, Micah Fowlow, and Levi Washburn each had an assist. Sam McLeod stopped 23 of 29 shots.

Andy Kay and Ethan Qualey scored for the 2-1 Cougars. Matt Tarr made 10 saves on 18 shots.

Bangor 12, Lawrence 0

At Fairfield, Tony Martinez scored four goals to lead Bangor to victory.

Nick George scored three times and recorded an assist for the 1-0 Rams and Devin Lincoln added two goals. Aaron Taft and Erik Miles combined to save the only shot.

Max Haney made 29 saves on 41 shots for 0-1 Lawrence.

JV: Bangor 4-0
