Brokaw sparks GSA win Gourley, Sullivan lead Bucksport past Caribou

BLUE HILL – Winslow Brokaw scored two second-half goals to lead unbeaten George Stevens Academy to a 3-0 girls soccer victory over Mount Desert Island of Bar Harbor on Saturday.

Laura Overton added a second-half goal for the 4-0 Eagles. Alida Peake and Emily Peake each had an assist. Kayla Eaton stopped 10 of 13 shots.

Bridgette Pratt turned away 17 of 23 shots for the 0-3 Trojans.

JV: George Stevens 4-1

Presque Isle 6, Hermon 0

At Hermon, Sarah Porter scored three goals to lead unbeaten Presque Isle past Hermon.

Kayla Legasse, Brittany Bearden and Carmen Allen also scored for the 5-0 Wildcats. Molly Hamel made six saves on eight shots.

Danielle Ross stopped 19 of 26 shots for 0-3-1 Hermon.

JV: Presque Isle 3-0

Bucksport 5, Caribou 0

At Bucksport, Cassie Gourley scored two goals and assisted another to give Bucksport the win.

Keely Sullivan had a goal and two assists for 3-1 Bucksport. Lindsey Gordon and Paige Pelletier added goals. Katie Hurd blocked both shots.

Brittany Doak and Karyn King combined to make seven saves on 22 shots for 2-3-1 Caribou.

Easton 6, East Grand 0

At Danforth, Kasey Lovely scored four goals to lead Easton to victory over East Grand.

Molly White and Brianna White each netted a goal for Easton. Brianna White and Taylor Burtt combined to make 22 saves on 26 shots for the 1-10 Bears.

Courtney Lloyd stopped four of 10 shots for the 0-4 Vikings.

Foxcroft Acad. 5, Dexter 0

At Dover-Foxcroft, Leslie Martin scored three first half goals to lead Foxcroft Academy to victory.

Lindsay Chase and Bryanne Clawson each scored a goal and recorded an assist while Megan Taylor added an assist. Sarah Whittemore stopped all 14 shots she faced for the 1-0-2 Ponies.

Ashley Richardson made 25 saves on 30 shots for the 1-2-1 Tigers.

Boys soccer

Caribou 4, Bucksport 0

At Bucksport, Kyle Corrigan scored two goals to push Caribou to victory.

Jarryd Rossignol scored a goal and assisted another for 5-2 Caribou. Caleb Rosser added a goal and Caleb Swanberg provided an assist. Chad McCarthy stopped all three shots.

Miles Bisher made 21 saves on 32 shots for 1-3 Bucksport.

JV: Caribou 5-1

Calais 2, Houlton 0

At Houlton, Corey Johnston and Nate O’Neil each scored to lead Calais past Houlton. The game was called at halftime for lightning.

Scott Geel stopped all four shots for 2-0 Calais.

Eben Thompson made two saves on four shots for 4-4 Houlton.

Calvary Chapel 3, Rangeley 2

At Hampden, Luke Thomas netted two goals and grabbed an assist to lead Calvary Chapel Christian by Rangeley.

John Burke scored a goal while Alex Merrill and Zack Austin each recorded an assist. Beau Miller made four saves on seven shots for the 3-0 Sabers.

Luck Hammond and Nels Christensen each scored a goal while Quinn Philbrick had an assist. Kent Medera stopped five of nine shots for 0-2 Rangeley.

Schenck 5, DI-Stonington 2

At Deer Isle, Kerry Thompson and James Graham each scored two goals to lead Schenck of East Millinocket to the win.

Trevor Violette added a goal for the 1-1 Wolverines. Lanny Thompson stopped 14 of 16 shots.

Collin Ciomei and Bryant Ciomei each scored for 1-2 Deer Isle-Stonington. Rob Brown and Eben Powers combined to make nine saves on 14 shots.

Field hockey

Central 1, Mattanawcook 1 (2OT)

At Lincoln, Michelle Paul scored an unassisted goal with 3:30 left in regulation to tie the game for Mattanawcook Academy.

Aliza Underhill scored nine minutes into the game on a penalty stroke for 1-1-2 Central of Corinth. Sam Martin made eight saves on 15 shots.

Sarah French stopped 11 of 23 shots for 2-1-1 Mattanawcook.

JV: Mattanawcook 2-0

Piscataquis 6, Bangor 0

At Guilford, Kellie Martel and Kaitlin Smith each netted a goal and tallied an assist to lead Piscataquis by Bangor.

Annie Agnew, Megan Traston, Kelsey Martel and Chelsea Hersey each scored a goal while Hattie Agnew grabbed two assists. Jessica Pratt stopped nine of 10 shots for the 4-0 Pirates.

Mikaela Marshall-Holmes made 10 saves on 20 shots for the 1-3 Rams.

JV: PCHS 2-1

Stearns 1, John Bapst 0

At Bangor, Felicia Achorn scored on an Amy Collinsworth assist 21:46 into the first half to lead Stearns of Millinocket to victory.

Deanna Michaud made eight saves on 13 shots for 3-0 Stearns.

Hillary Laferriere stopped 11 of 16 shots for 1-2 John Bapst.

JV: Stearns 2-0
