Boucher, Warriors pull away from Vikes

FORT KENT – Taylor Boucher scored the first of her two second-half goals early in the period to break a 1-1 halftime tie and propel the Fort Kent Warriors to a 5-1 high school girls soccer win over the Caribou Vikings Tuessday.

Emily Pelletier, Kasey Pelletier and Bailey LeBoeus added a goal apiece for 7-3 Fort Kent. Kelsie Bouchard had five saves on eight shots.

Kristen Espling netted a first-half goal for 2-5 Caribou. Brittany Doak had 14 saves on 27 shots.

So. Aroostook 4, Ashland 2

At Dyer Brook, Kaylea Collier scored two goals and assisted on another as the 8-0 Warriors topped the Hornets.

Rochelle Nadeau and Liz Goodall each scored a goal for Southern Aroostook. Erin Caswell and Emily Cummings combined to make seven saves on 12 shots.

Crystal Cook scored two unassisted goals for 3-6-1 Ashland. Taylor Baker made five saves on 13 shots.

Highview Chr. 5, East Grand 1

At Charleston, Michala Rowe scored three goals and had one assist while Jade Philbrick assisted on three goals and scored one herself as the Knights cruised to the win.

Courtney Chandler added a goal for 2-1 Highview Christian. Jana Philbrick, Jade Philbrick’s twin sister, stopped seven of 13 shots.

Kelsey Daoust nailed a second-half penalty kick for the 0-8 Vikings of Danforth. Jodie Crone and Malessa Zaneldin combined for 14 saves on 29 shots.

Calais 6, Narraguagus 0

At Calais, Courtney Hill netted four goals as Calais cruised past Narraguagus.

Kayla Cobb had two goals and two assists for the 5-1-1 Blue Devils. Stephanie Perry saved all five shots she faced.

Sam Baker made 11 saves on 18 shots for the 0-2-2 Knights of Harrington.

Boys soccer

Ashland 5, So. Aroostook 1

At Dyer Brook, Carl Nemer scored two goals to power the Hornets past the Warriors.

Jeremy Tarr and Tyler Cote each scored and grabbed an assist while Jesse Martin added a goal for Ashland. Kevin Baker stopped 10 of 11 shots for the 7-1-2 Hornets.

Dakota Sleeper scored for 5-4 Southern Aroostook while Josh Branscome recorded the assist. Colby Clark made 11 saves on 16 shots.

Presque Isle 0, Hermon 0 (2OT)

At Hermon, the Wildcats and Hawks played to a scoreless tie through two overtimes.

Corey Johnson had eight saves on 15 shots for 0-6-1 Hermon while Adam Kingsbury saved four out of six shots for 5-1-1 Presque Isle.

Highview Chr. 2, East Grand 1

At Charleston, Jonas Kramer netted the game-winning goal off an assist from Jonathan Reed 1:18 into the second overtime as the Knights earned the win.

Reed scored the first half goal for Highview Christian. Wesley Jones and Kramer combined to make six saves on 11 shots for the 2-0 Knights.

Lucas Gillis scored the tying goal for East Grand of Danforth in the second half. Rick Parks made 18 saves on 26 shots for the 0-5 Vikings.

Van Buren 3, LCS/MSSM 0

At Limestone, Ben Doucette scored two goals as Van Buren shut out Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.

Dave Lavertu added a goal for Van Buren while Alex Martin, J.P. Dumond and Chris Caron each tallied an assist. Andrew Taylor made one save on two shots for the 9-0-2 Crusaders.

A.J. Rossignol stopped 27 of 32 shots for the 3-9 Eagles.
