FORT KENT – Emlyn Jacoby scored two goals and assisted on another as the University of Maine-Fort Kent cruised to a 5-1 men’s college soccer win over Vermont Tech on Tuesday.
Miguel Gomez netted two goals and Andy Martin added a goal and an assist for the 8-1 Bengals. Noe Aparachio tallied two assists and Jules Bodo, Dwayne Smith, Donatas Sumyla, and Mike Sinclair each had an assist. Derrick Plourde made three saves on six shots.
Matt Pendine made six saves on 33 shots for 2-6-2 Vermont Tech.
UMass Boston 5, St. Joseph’s 4
At Boston, Romeo Zeqo netted a pair of goals to lead UMass Boston over St. Joseph’s.
Guilherme Goncalves had a goal and two assists and Maynor Sanchez and John DiPietro added a goal apiece for the 9-4 Beacons. Paul Maniscalco and Mike Marchesi combined to make four saves on 15 shots.
David Rosquete scored two goals, and Doug MacCallum and Eamonn Harrigan each had a goal for the 5-6 Monks. Dan Rockwell and Scott Desrosiers chipped in an assist apiece. Cory Smith and Greg Cavanaugh combined for five saves on 22 shots.
Women’s soccer
UMFK 11, Vermont Tech 0
At Fort Kent, Nicole Nowakowski and Sarah Pinette had two goals apiece and Jodyann Blake scored a goal and had three assists as UM-Fort Kent remained undefeated.
Liz Clavette and Lindsay Cyr each tallied a goal and an assist for the 11-0 Bengals. Maria Williams, Amber Nadeau, Jeanne Frazier, and Carolyn Faust all added a goal each. Stephanie Schofield had two assists and Neile Lozier added another. Heather Hartman made two saves on seven shots.
Chelsea Carpenter stopped 28 of 44 shots for 2-6-2 Vermont Tech.
