ELLSWORTH – The League of Women Voters is hosting a candidate forum Monday, Oct. 30, for local state House and Senate races.
Maine Senate District 28 candidates Sen. Dennis Damon, a Democrat, and Republican challenger Kenneth Fredette will square off from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. House District 38 candidates Rep. Robert Crosthwaite, a Republican, and Democratic opponent Steven Savage will be featured from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ellsworth City Hall Auditorium.
Each candidate will present his views and positions on such issues as economic development and tax policy and then answer written questions submitted by the audience.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Membership is open to both men and women.
