Rain, wind blow back soccer, football games and playoffs

More soccer and football games were postponed Saturday as strong wind and rain swept through Maine this weekend.

Both Eastern Maine Class B soccer championship games scheduled for Saturday will be played today, as will several EM Class B football playoff games and a Class C regular-season game.

The Eastern Maine Class A soccer championships will be held Tuesday.

The Eastern Maine Class B regional finals will be played today with the No. 1 Winslow girls hosting No. 2 Ellsworth at 1 p.m. and the No. 1 John Bapst of Bangor boys facing No. 3 Ellsworth at Hermon High School at 4 p.m.

In football playoffs, No. 6 MDI travels to No. 3 Waterville for a 1 p.m. matchup and No. 7 Leavitt of Turner will head to No. 2 Winslow, also for a 1 p.m. game.

In an Eastern Maine Class C football game with playoff implications, John Bapst will host Orono at 5 p.m. at Cameron Stadium in Bangor.

On Tuesday, the No. 2 Bangor boys will travel to No. 1 Brunswick for a 2 p.m. Eastern Maine Class A final and the No. 2 Waterville girls will host No. 5 Mount Ararat in their regional final matchup at 2 p.m.

Three Western Maine soccer titles will be decided today. The No. 2 Scarborough boys will face No. 5 Westbrook for the Class A crown at 6 p.m. The Western Maine Class A girls final with No. 3 Scarborough at No. 1 Gorham will be held at 3:30 p.m. In the Class B girls regional, No. 1 Falmouth will host No. 3 Yarmouth at 6 p.m.

The Western Maine Class B boys title will be decided Tuesday with No. 4 York traveling to No. 2 Falmouth for a 3:30 p.m. game.

The state cross-country championship meets and field hockey finals will also be held Saturday.
