University of Maine-Presque Isle graduate James “Chico” Hernandez, representing Team Irish, won gold and silver medals recently at the 2006 North American Grappling Association World’s Largest Grappling Championships at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.

Hernandez won the Gold in the Executive Gi Int. Division in the Absolute Weight Class and was runner-up in the Expert No-Gi Competition.
