Why does the BDN keep bashing Washington County? In “Opiates lay siege to work force” (BDN, Nov. 3), you list the growth of opiate abuse in seven counties for patients in treatment for the last seven years. Washington County had an increase of 21 percent and Aroostook County an increase of 1,347 percent. Washington County had the smallest increase of the counties you listed yet you singled out our county as the one where employers are having trouble finding suitable employees who are not using drugs. I would think that counties with the highest increase would deserve dishonorable mention not the county with the least.
