Elizabeth Brooks, occupational therapist, is the newest member of the Northern Maine Medical Center rehabilitation therapy department in Fort Kent. Brooks received her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colo. She will work with patients in psychiatric units as well as those in the skilled nursing unit at Forest Hill Manor, and will be available to treat outpatients.

Mark Putnam has been named managing editor of Northeast Publishing Co.’s five weekly newspapers and two monthly publications. A Houlton native, Putnam is the former editor of The Star-Herald and worked more than nine years at Northeast Publishing as a writer and photographer. He comes back to the newspaper business from Unicel Cellular Service, where he was an account executive in charge of medium to large business customers. In addition to the Presque Isle weekly, NEP publishes the Aroostook Republican of Caribou, the Houlton Pioneer Times, the Weekly of Bangor and the Piscataquis Observer of Dover-Foxcroft. The Maine Potato News and the County Crossroads are published monthly.

Troy B. Dean, former financial coordinator of Livada Securities, a Bangor Savings Bank subsidiary, has been promoted to cash management officer of corporate services based in Bangor. He is a former co-owner of Pat’s Bike Shop in Brewer and a supervisor for the United Parcel Service in Brewer.
