Wallace paces Panthers to 26th consecutive win

ST. AGATHA – Shaun Walling scored 13 points and Blake McCarthy added 11 as the two-time defending Class D state champion Central Aroostook Panthers of Mars Hill extended their winning streak to 26 games with a 68-26 high school boys basketball victory over the Wisdom Pioneers Friday.

Randy Thibeault paced Wisdom with 17 points, including four 3-point goals.

Zack Montell scored two goals in the second period for the Tigers. Josh Wheelock and Peckham provided assists. Chris Howe stopped 17 of 19 shots.

Ben McPherson tied the score at 2-2 on a Dylan Collins assist 10:47 into the third period for the Wildcats. Collins scored in the second period on assists from Mark Carvell and Brennan Shaw. Ethan Hill made 21 saves on 24 shots.
