CAM CORMIER
Cormier, a senior on the Bangor High indoor track and field team, won two individual events, ran on a winning relay and set a league record in the 200-meter dash Saturday as the Rams earned the team win in a meet in Orono. Cormier won the 60-yard dash in 6.83 seconds, ran the anchor leg on the 4×220 relay, and broke the 200 dash record in a time of 22.97.
Small School (Classes C-D)
JOEY HUNTER
Hunter, a junior forward from Washington Academy of East Machias, tallied 22 points, 22 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in Friday’s 62-44 victory over rival Machias. The Raiders are 3-1.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
JENNA LORENTSEN
A 5-foot-10 junior forward on the Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield basketball team, Lorentsen has led the 4-1 Huskies in scoring the last three games. She scored 20 points in a 57-43 win over Mount View, put in nine points against Maranacook (41-37) and tallied 11 points in a 32-26 win over Belfast.
Small School (Classes C-D)
RACHEL FOSTER
Foster, a 6-foot-1 junior center on the Houlton basketball team, keyed two big wins for the 4-0 Shiretowners. She scored 26 points to go with 17 rebounds in a 45-40 win over defending Class B champion Presque Isle. Foster also scored 10 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in a 52-47 victory over previously undefeated Fort Kent.
