Bragdon sparks Tigers’ victory over Searsport

EAST SULLIVAN – Kylie Bragdon had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead Sumner to a 64-45 high school girls basketball victory over Searsport Thursday.

Chelsey Norton had 18 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers. Nicky Sargent added 10 rebounds and Clarissa West had four steals.

Emma Clark led Searsport with 15 points.

At Presque Isle, Ethan Hill stopped all 12 shots he faced and assisted on a goal by Greg Cyr to lead Presque Isle past Hampden.

Brendan Shaw, Ben McPhereson and Brandon Daigle added a goal apiece and Josh Buck and Dylan Collins assists for the Wildcats.

Matt Albert stopped 35 of 39 shots for the Broncos.

At Stacyville, Tom Bird scored a game-high 18 points and Devan Parker tossed in 16 more as Lee Academy put five players in double figures and cruised to victory.

Bird had 12 points in the first half as the Pandas built a comfortable 37-21 halftime lead.

Sydney Surratt and Jon Connick had 11 points apiece for the winners and Peter Pickering chipped in 10 more.

Jared Anderson’s 13 points, Josh Guiggey’s 10 and Tom Anderson’s nine points paced Katahdin.
