HERMON – The Big East Conference will hand out cheerleading awards Saturday with two varsity competitions and a junior varsity meet at Hermon High School.

The day will start at 10 a.m. with the JV competition. Doors will open at 8:15. The Class A varsity competition will follow the JVs, after which the building will be cleared for the Class B meet which starts at 5 p.m.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.

The order of JV competition will be Bangor, Nokomis of Newport, Ellsworth, Hermon, Old Town, Hampden, Brewer, Presque Isle and John Bapst of Bangor.

The Big East Class A competition will start at 1 p.m. The order of competition will be Hampden, Old Town, Bangor, Brewer and Nokomis.

The Class B order of competition is John Bapst, Foxcroft, Bucksport, Hermon, Caribou, MDI, Mattanawcook of Lincoln, Presque Isle and Ellsworth.

Each team will perform twice. The first and second round scores will be averaged to determine the finishing order. The top two teams will be presented awards.
