The University of Maine women’s hockey team had a tough weekend in Greater Boston, dropping a 3-0 decision Saturday at Boston University and getting shut out 6-0 Sunday at Boston College.

On Saturday at Agganis Arena in Boston, Boston University scored three third-period goals to blank the Black Bears.

Sarah Russell, Amanda Shaw and Brin Soman notched a goal apiece for the 15-8-2 Terriers. Melissa Haber stopped all 14 shots she faced.

Genevieve Turgeon tallied 21 saves for 7-14-2 UMaine.

On Sunday at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Mass., Allie Thunstrom and Kelli Stack scored two goals each Sunday as ninth-ranked Boston College blanked UMaine.

Deborah Spillane and Lindsay Wright each added a goal for the Eagles (18-6-2, 12-4 Hockey East). Molly Schaus posted the shutout with 14 saves.

Turgeon registered 37 saves for the Black Bears (7-15-2, 2-10-2 HE).
