An inebriated man found lying in the middle of the road at Court and Hammond streets early Saturday later tried to evade hospital security in the Emergency Department at Eastern Maine Medical Center and was arrested, according to Bangor police reports.

Around 12:45 a.m. Officer Steve Jordan responded to the first call about the man in the road and saw that a Bouchard’s wrecker and an ambulance had blocked traffic to protect him.

Jordan asked the man to give his name, which he said was Peter “… Yo Mamma.” His real name was Peter Goodin, 22, of Bangor, reports stated.

Ambulance personnel transported Goodin to EMMC for examination. However, when they arrived at the hospital and opened the vehicle’s door, Goodin ran.

Jordan followed him toward the parking garages where Goodin managed to pry open a handleless door that led into a restricted area of the Emergency Department.

Jordan tried to follow Goodin but the door had locked behind him. Jordan couldn’t pry it open and warned hospital staff about the intruder over the radio.

Meanwhile, Officer Rob Angelo, who was on duty inside the hospital, saw hospital security chasing Goodin down the hall yelling “Stop that guy!” according to the report.

Goodin dodged the officers briefly until Angelo grabbed him, pushed him against a bed and handcuffed him.

Goodin was arrested, charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing, and was taken to Penobscot County Jail.

A Bangor man received a summons Sunday for unlawful possession of scheduled drugs after the evidence dropped out of his pants pocket while he was describing a burglary he reported to Bangor police, according to the police report.

Officer Jason Stuart responded to a complaint from Alvin Moreno, 45, who said that a man he knew kicked in his door and stole money from his pants.

The report stated that Moreno appeared to be under the influence of cocaine, which he admitted was true. He then pulled change out of his pockets, saying there wasn’t much left after the robbery, but then pulled out a large wad of cash, two small bags of marijuana and cocaine residue, and a few pills.

Stuart took the drugs and pills and gave Moreno the summons.

Bangor police arrested an intoxicated woman on an outstanding warrant early Sunday after she was involved in a scuffle over a borrowed shirt, according to a police report.

An officer patrolling Harlow Street saw Kimberly Haskins, 32, residence unknown, yelling at a man and later shoving him. The man pushed her away and went to talk to the officer.

The man said Haskins was upset because he had asked her to return his girlfriend’s shirt, which she had borrowed earlier that night because she was wearing just a bra in the zero-degree weather.

The officer checked Haskins’ background and found the warrant. She was taken to Penobscot County Jail. She was also summonsed for violation of conditions of her bail, which prohibited her from consuming alcohol, and assault, both Class E crimes, according to the report.
