ELLSWORTH – Two teenagers face a charge of disorderly conduct following a recent incident during which they sprayed a stinky substance on a Ellsworth School Department bus.
Ellsworth police Officer Gil Jameson, the department’s liaison for Ellsworth High School, issued summonses this week to both students, whose names were not released.
Apparently, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both from Lamoine, used the spray during their morning trip to school last week.
When the bus pulled into Ellsworth High School, the driver called authorities and the Ellsworth Fire Department responded.
After speaking to students and the driver, Jameson learned who was responsible. Their cases have since been referred to the Hancock County District Attorney’s Office.
The Fire Department is seeking $350 in restitution for having to deploy a fire engine.
