McConnon, Babin pace Orono victory

HOULTON – Chris McConnon and Sean Babin each scored a goal and assisted another to lead Orono to a 5-2 high school hockey win over Houlton-Hodgdon Tuesday.

Orono led just 1-0 after two periods.

Dan Ohno scored in the first period for the 16-2-1 Red Riots. Tony Raymond and Mark Cloutier added third-period goals and Nathan Curtis provided an assist. Jared Bussell stopped 25 of 27 shots.

Sam Carter and Craig Buxton scored for the 10-8 Blackhawks. Chris McGuire, Zach Chase, and Ashir Abouleish each had an assist. Levi Ledger made 25 saves on 30 shots.

Bangor 4, Cony 1

At Sawyer Arena, Matt Boehmer registered two goals to lead the Bangor Rams past the Cony Rams of Augusta.

Johnny Warren and Dave Pardilla added a goal apiece for 10-7-1 Bangor. Nick George, Nick Silver and Joel Whitney each dished out two assists. Andrew Riley made 27 saves on 28 shots.

Tad Brooks scored for 8-10 Cony. Nick Claudel stopped 22 of 26 shots.

Presque Isle 11, Old Town 4

At Presque Isle, Dylan Collins tallied three goals and three assists and Brandon Daigle also netted three goals as Presque Isle triumphed.

Brennan Shaw notched two goals while Greg Cyr, Jared Buck and Sean Flanagan each had one for the 11-6-1 Wildcats. Ethan Hill had 28 saves on 32 shots.

Josh Hasseltine had a goal and two assists for the 7-12 Coyotes while Gary Johnson, Jason Smith and Tyler Vandez added a goal each. Dan LeBreton stopped 30 of 41 shots.
