From Jan Currier, writing on behalf of the Bangor Board of Realtors, comes word that the organization’s Pot ‘O Gold Super Supper, slated for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Jeff’s Catering in Brewer will benefit not one, but two local organizations this year.
The 15th annual fundraiser, for which only 100 tickets for two will be sold at $150, will once again benefit the Greater Bangor Habitat for Humanity Chapter in its quest to build or renovate homes for qualifying individuals and families.
This year, a portion of the proceeds also will benefit the Pine Tree Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Currier explained that the Realtors group likes to partner with local organizations to raise funds to benefit area residents.
For example, since 1993 its annual fundraisers, coupled with matching grants from the Maine Association of Realtors Affordable Housing Foundation and Realtor affiliate members, have raised nearly $100,000 for Bangor’s Habitat for Humanity.
The Super Supper features butlered hors d’oeuvres, a four-course dinner, a $5,000 grand prize drawing and many other chances to win prizes.
The public is welcome to attend, and since only a limited number of tickets are available, early reservations are suggested.
