BANGOR – The Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce will host a business breakfast Wednesday, March 14, to discuss the past 30 years of economic development in Maine.
Laurie Lachance, a former state economist and now president and CEO of the Maine Development Foundation, will present “In Search of Silver Buckshot,” a summary of a 30-year history of Maine’s economic development efforts.
Lachance collected insights and feedback from about 150 Maine leaders, including interviews with former governors and top staff to identify the major economic development initiatives and programs that Maine has undertaken. Her talk will assess what the state did well and which initiatives have fallen short.
The talk will take place at 7:30 a.m. at the Ramada Inn, 357 Odlin Road.
The public is welcome, and for non-Chamber members the cost of the breakfast is $15. Call the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce at 947-0307 to register.
