Student in Rockland arrested for cocaine

ROCKLAND – A Rockland District High School student was arrested at the school Thursday for possession of cocaine.

Kristi Stone, 18, of Owls Head was charged with illegal possession of scheduled drugs and taken to the Knox County Jail where bail was set at $2,500.

Deputy Police Chief Wallace Tower said police received a call from the high school at 11 a.m. Thursday informing them that a student had been found in possession of drugs. When Officer James Jillison arrived at the school he determined that Stone had been found with 4.6 grams of cocaine wrapped in small plastic bags suitable for resale.

“It was either for her personal use or for resale,” Tower said. “We do not have an indication at this time that she intended to sell it in the school.’

Tower said the department’s detective division was assisting with the investigation.
