A passion for fashion

Fashionistas can spring into 2007’s best new looks – and support a good cause – with the Rendezvous Fashion Benefit.

The event, which takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Spectacular Event Center in Bangor, will benefit the United Way of Eastern Maine.

Hosted by the American Marketing Association, a student organization at the University of Maine, the fashion show will highlight this season’s junior fashions, business clothing and eveningwear from Macy’s. Local high school and college students will model.

Maine native Victoria Lee Fuller, a Nylon magazine cover girl who has strutted her stuff in two New York City fashion shows, is the evening’s featured model. She’ll lead the models down the runway and bring city style and attitude to the show.

And yours truly, ShopGirl, will serve as the evening’s mistress of ceremonies.

Tickets cost $12 person and include appetizers, and there will be a cash bar. Cocktail hour begins at 7 p.m., and the fashion show begins at 8 p.m. For information or to order tickets, visit www.myspace.com/rendezvousfashion. Tickets also will be sold at the door.

All proceeds benefit the United Way, so grab your best girlfriend and go. Philanthropy is always in style.
