The annual Poets/Speak event will be held 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the Bangor Public Library. Poets reading from their works will include Carl Little, Leon Raikes, Elizabeth Garber, Troy Casa and Burt Hatlen, among others.

Borders Books Music and Cafe will host three nights of readings Tuesday to Thursday, April 17-19, at the bookstore at the Bangor Mall.

Tuesday’s event will begin with readings of poems by Edna St. Vincent Millay, and will be followed by poets Adrian Blevens, George VanDeventer and Ira Sadoff. On Wednesday, poems by Constance Hunting will be read, followed by April Ossman, Jeff Thomson and Christian Barter. Thursday will open with readings from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and then by poems Lilian Baker Kennedy, Michael Macklin and Maine’s poet laureate, Betsy Sholl.

Readings begin at 7 each evening, and the microphone will open for readings by attendees each night.
