In-home dog training

ORRINGTON – Diane Cunningham has opened Paws Down Training Service in Orrington.

The company offers an in-home training service for dogs whose owners cannot take them to formal classes due to physical limitations, transportation or scheduling restrictions.

Cunningham, a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and apprenticed with a local kennel, said her goal was to work with owners and dogs on basic obedience. She wants to teach people to communicate with their dogs through positive reinforcement, emphasizing the structure the dog needs to learn good manners.
