A head-on car collision on Route 1A in Holden sent one driver to the hospital and held rush-hour traffic to one lane for about 45 minutes Tuesday afternoon.
Betric Stanley, 23, of Holden was leaving Cedar Haven Mobile Home Park in his 2006 Ford Focus around 4 p.m. Tuesday when he failed to see a car behind a pickup truck traveling east on Route 1A, Holden police Sgt. Eugene Fizelle said. The pickup turned right into Cedar Haven, and Stanley took a left onto Route 1A, colliding head-on with a 2001 Hyundai driven by Angela Brown, 28, of Alton.
Both vehicles had extensive damage to the front end, Fizelle said, and Brown, who suffered a leg injury, was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor by Brewer ambulance. Stanley was treated at the scene by Hampden rescue. No charges were filed. (Chelsey Ledue, BDN)
