Orono’s Winter one-hits Sumner

ORONO – Max Winter allowed only one hit and struck out 12 to lead the Orono Red Riots to a 4-0 high school baseball victory over the Sumner Tigers Monday.

Ben Perry and Winter each had an RBI single for the Red Riots.

Steve Caringan singled for the Tigers of East Sullivan.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Alex Gallant doubled and singled to drive in three runs and lead Bangor past Lawrence of Fairfield.

Tyler McDade had two singles and two RBIs for the Rams and Shane Walton added two singles and an RBI.

Brook Lawrence singled three times for Lawrence and Jack Hersom added two singles.

At Blue Hill, Josh Astbury scattered one run on two hits while striking out nine and walking only four in a complete-game effort as George Stevens Academy triumphed.

Lucas Marks had two doubles and knocked in a run while Jesse Ingraham doubled and singled for the Eagles.

Travis Deabay and Jeff Osborne both singled for Stearns of Millinocket.

Mount View 12, Oak Hill 1

At Sabattus, Ben Raven hit three singles and scored four runs to lift Mount View of Thorndike over Oak Hill.

Ethan Jean had a double and two singles with a run driven in for Mount View and Cody Raven added two singles and two runs scored.

Brandon Plourde singled twice and knocked in Oak Hill’s only run.

At Hermon, Timmy Kenerson pitched a two-hitter as the Hawks picked up their first win.

Kenerson struck out nine and walked four in the effort. Travis Estes doubled in a run and Derek Helms doubled and scored twice for Hermon.

Adam Dow and Ian Champeon singled for Foxcroft Academy.

At Hermon on Saturday, John Bapst of Bangor broke loose for 16 runs in the fourth inning en route to the victory.

Casey Hull led the Crusaders with two doubles and three runs score, while Nick Smith and Aaron Healey added two singles each. Alex Yates doubled.

Paul Ormsby posted a double and two RBIs for Hermon.

At Orono, Nicky Sargent pitched a no-hitter with nine strikeouts as Sumner of East Sullivan shut out Orono.

Hollie Stanwood had a home run and a double while Lana Sargent had three singles for Sumner. Kayla Higgins, Clarissa West and Ashley Pennartz each doubled and singled.

At Brewer, Dominique DeFillipp singled three times and knocked in a run as Brewer rolled.

Leah Jackson, Sarah Estes and Hailey Smith each had two singles and two RBIs for the Witches. Smith and Stacey Gomm combined on a five-hitter.

Sarah Wilcox had three singles for Old Town.

At Hermon, junior Ashley Kelley pitched a no-hitter, allowing just one walk and striking out 16 of 18 batters to lead Hermon past Foxcroft.

Jaimie Beers had three singles and two RBIs for Hermon. Kelley tripled and doubled and Lily Berry added an RBI single.

Megan Crocker broke up the perfect game with a leadoff walk in the fifth inning for Foxcroft Academy.
