BLUE HILL – Lydia Clapp scattered seven hits while striking out 10 to lead the George Stevens Academy Eagles to a 6-4 high school softball win over the Orono Red Riots Saturday.

Jessica Keith had three singles and two runs while Abby Astbury finished with two singles and two runs scored for the Eagles of Blue Hill.

Joyce Farcheel and Emily Baudanza-Garber each hit three singles for the Red Riots.

At Rockland, Lauren Adams led off the fourth inning with a single and later scored on Mandy Kennedy’s single to provide the winning run for Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.

Jordan Kennedy notched 14 strikeouts while allowing just four hits and one walk for the MCI Huskies. Jill Wrin hit an RBI double.

Baillie Boggs led Rockland with two singles.

At Harrington, Jessica Tenan went 5-for-5 and also pitched a one-hitter while striking out six for the Narraguagus Knights.

Tenan had a double, four singles and five RBIs for the Knights. Kayla Collora was 3-for-3 with a triple, two singles and five RBIs. Jenna Beal, Bethany Grant and Nikki Endre each had two singles.

For Shead of Eastport, Haley Richardson had a single and a walk.

At Deer Isle, the Schenck Wolverines of East Millinocket outslugged Deer Isle-Stonington 18-11 in the first game, but the Mariners used a solid outing from Anika Powers to rebound in the second game with a 16-2 victory over Schenck.

In the first game, Kayla Osborne had three singles and two RBIs for Schenck. Amanda King had a double, single, and two RBIs while Taylor Gross had two singles and two RBIs.

Powers had a triple, double, single and three RBIs for the Mariners. Mary Parker had two singles and two RBIs.

In the second game, Powers allowed five hits and four walks, and had six strikeouts. She also had a solo home run in the fourth and two singles. Mary Parker had a three-run homer, a double, and two singles. Hannah Siebert hit a three-run homer. Parker’s and Powers’ homers were back to back in the fourth.

Tricia Hobbs had a double, single and one RBI for Schenck.

Bangor Chr. sweeps Katahdin

At Bangor, Jillian French drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead Bangor Christian past Katahdin 14-13 in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday.

Bangor Christian defeated Katahdin 12-3 in the second game.

In the first game, Mariah Bach had three hits and three RBIs while Kristen Pelletier had a double and two singles for the Patriots.

Melissa Duffy and Chelsea Bates each had three singles for Katahdin.

In the second game, Bekah Smith had three singles and three RBIs. Kelly Robinson had three singles and an RBI while Monica Alexander added a pair of singles and an RBI for Bangor Christian.

Melissa Duffy singled twice for the Cougars.

In the first game, Eben Powers doubled and singled with two RBIs while Ben Hardy added an RBI double for the Mariners.

Ryan Thompson had a single for Schenck.

In the second game, Ben Hardie singled twice with three RBIs while Collin Ciomei added a pair of singles for Deer Isle-Stonington.

At Hermon, Pat Thibodeau and Eric Brown each had two singles and two RBIs to lead Caribou past Hermon 13-2 in the second game of a doubleheader.

Caribou defeated Hermon in the first game 8-5.

In the first game, Mike Doucette had three singles for Caribou. Kyle Corrigan doubled and singled while Jordan Haines and Philip St. Peter each singled twice for the Vikings.

Paul Ormsby doubled and singled with two RBIs while Tim Kenerson had a single with two RBIs for Hermon.

In the second game, Travis Estes drove in a pair of runs on a double for Hermon.
