Alexander lifts Bangor Christian by Warriors

DYER BROOK – Monica Alexander pitched a two-hit shutout and Christin Pelletier tripled and singled to lead the Bangor Christian Patriots to a 4-0 high school softball victory over the Southern Aroostook Warriors Saturday.

Jillian French added a single for Bangor Christian.

Rochelle Nadeau hurled a three-hitter for Southern Aroostook. Kaylea Collier and Brittany Charette each singled for the Warriors.

At Fairfield, Kiera Walsh fired a three-hitter, striking out seven and not walking anybody, and Paige Dicker’s run-scoring single followed three walks to break a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning as Lawrence of Fairfield triumphed.

Stephanie Johansmeier had two singles for Lawrence while Kate Peverada’s double and single and Eva Shannon’s double paced the Broncos.

Rangeley sweeps Greenville

At Greenville, Holly White hit a home run, a triple and two singles to help lead Rangeley past Greenville 20-8 in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday.

Rangeley defeated Greenville in the first game 17-3.

In the first game, Angela White hit two doubles while Devon Faye and Laura White each added a pair of singles for Rangeley. Lauren Fling had a triple for Greenville.

In the second game, Brook Durrell and Elly Stone each hit three singles. Susan Muzzy and Fling each had two singles for the Lakers.

Penobscot Valley 8, Schenck 0

At East Millinocket, Jamie Milton allowed two hits and had 10 strikeouts as Penobscot Valley of Howland shut out Schenck.

Kelsy Lavertu doubled and singled while Milton had two singles. Mindy Dolly added an RBI double for Penobscot Valley.

Brianne Smith and Trisha Hobbs each had a single for Schenck.

Presque Isle sweeps Foxcroft

At Presque Isle, Angela Norsworthy and Krista Coffin combined to pitch a one hit shutout allowing no walks and striking out nine to lead Presque Isle to the 12-0 win over Foxcroft Academy in the first game. The Wildcats also won the second game 16-4.

In the first game, Heather Fowler doubled and singled to drive in three runs. Jasmine Fletcher singled in the second inning for Foxcroft.

In the second game, Chelsea Glovins knocked in three runs on two singles for Presque Isle. Kelsey Boss led Foxcroft with an RBI single. Courtney Withee and Rebecca Flanders singled and scored.

Presque Isle, Foxcroft split

At Presque Isle, Luke Ireland walked with one out in the seventh inning, stole second and scored the winning run on a Bennett Cassidy pinch-hit double to lead Presque Isle past Foxcroft Academy 5-4 in the first game. Foxcroft Academy scored seven runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Wildcats 15-11 in the second game.

In the first game, Logan York singled three times for Presque Isle. Nick Lancisi doubled twice for Foxcroft and Ian Champeon added two singles.

In the second game, Nick Lancisi hit a two-out grand slam in the seventh to lead the Ponies. David White tripled, doubled, and singled to drive in two runs and Ian Champeon doubled and singled. Tony Gabarro and Shane Atkins each doubled and singled with an RBI.

At Fairfield, Ben Manzo hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning to lift Lawrence over Hampden Academy.

John Flynn singled and scored a run for Lawrence.

Shawn Smith singled twice and scored a run for Hampden. Patrick Stephens singled and scored and Joel Neill hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.

At Dexter, Dan Beatham hit a double and two singles to drive in six runs and lift Dexter over Penquis of Milo.

Aaron Woodman had two singles and two RBIs for the Tigers. Ethan Woodman had two singles and an RBI and Gavin Cote singled twice.

Nick Emery hit a second-inning home run and a single for two RBIs for Penquis an Brad Brown added two singles and an RBI.

At Schenck, Joe Gilley hit two singles and drove in a run as Penobscot Valley of Howland defeated Schenck of East Millinocket.

Joe Ruitto doubled and singled with an RBI while Trevor Violet added a pair of singles and two RBIs for Schenck.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Justin Lewey had an RBI triple and Aaron Sullivan had an RBI single during a five-run first-inning rally that propelled the unbeaten Tigers of Eastport to victory.

Lewey finished with a triple and an RBI single, while Sullivan had two RBI singles and Mike Cummings had three singles.

J.T. Kelleher led Woodland with a double and a single, while Mark McLellan added a single and an RBI.
