Freeman, Cooke lift Bucks to win

BUCKSPORT – Todd Freeman hit a home run and later added two singles to lead Bucksport to a 16-6 high school baseball victory over Hermon Tuesday.

Teddy Cooke had two singles and four RBIs for the Golden Bucks. Eddie Robbins added two singles and two RBIs and Miles Bisher singled and scored four runs.

Derek Helms hit three singles for Hermon while Travis Estes and Tim Kennerson doubled and singled.

At Harrington, Evan Alexander allowed two runs on five hits, four walks and a hit batsman while recording 12 strikeouts through five innings to lead Sumner of East Sullivan past Narraguagus.

Matt Boyle had two doubles and a single with two RBIs for the Tigers and Alexander doubled and singled with two RBIs. Steve Carigan and Brian Haywood both had two singles and an RBI.

Matt Beal doubled and singled for the Knights and Kyle Tenan added an RBI double.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Brett Mitchell hit a three-run triple in the sixth inning to help push Mount Desert Island of Bar Harbor past Foxcroft Academy.

Ben Clark and Mike Hamlin both hit an RBI single for the Trojans.

Nick Lancisi hit a double and a two-run home run for the Ponies and Abe Landry had two singles and an RBI.

At Corinth, Scott Kelley doubled twice and knocked in a run while three other Red Devils had two singles and an RBI as Central earned the victory.

Danny Kane tripled and singled for the winners while Josh Collins, Charles Haney and Levi Nickerson had two hits and an RBI.

Joe Gilley smacked a two-run home run in the first for Penobscot Valley of Howland. Aaron Saucier contributed three singles and two RBIs.

At Harrington, Lona Sargent hit a three-run triple to help lead Sumner of East Sullivan past Narraguagus.

Nicky Sargent hit an RBI double for Sumner and Ashley Pennartz added a single and two runs scored. Tasha Daley pitched the shutout.

Ellsworth 8. John Bapst 0

At Husson College in Bangor, Catie Cravens tossed a five-hitter, striking out eight and walking one, and Tessa Rockwood and Jen Richter hit back-to-back run-scoring doubles in the six run third inning to pace undefeated Ellsworth past John Bapst.

Rockwood belted a two-run double and Richter followed with an RBI double.

Rockwood had two singles to go with her double and Richter had n RBI single to go with her double. Maggie Savoy and Lauren Peer each had a pair of singles for 9-0 Ellsworth.

Whitney Sinclair’s two base hits sparked John Bapst.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Megan Crocker and Sam Snyder each had two singles and an RBI to lead the Foxcroft Academy Ponies past Mount Desert Island.

April Winchenback paced the Trojans with a triple, single and three RBIs.
