Vietnam veterans

We are being honored Memorial Day, Monday, May 28.

I hope that by now you know that the Cole family is again making a special day for veterans.

This day is for us, Vietnam veterans. Let us step forward and take our place as proud veterans. Those of us who walk in the parade, or ride the bus if we are unable to walk, will receive a Maine-made walking stick with Vietnam service colors.

It is time that we admit that we did not lose the fight. The war was lost on the floor of Congress. It is time we hold our heads high and know that we served as we were asked to do as did all war veterans.

It is time you are welcomed home. Come walk for those who could not come home. That is why I walk.
