Hawks edge Bapst Kenerson single lifts Hermon

BANGOR – Tim Kenerson’s RBI single in the seventh inning lifted the Hermon Hawks to a 4-3 high school baseball win over the John Bapst Crusaders Tuesday at the Winkin Complex.

Hermon’s Zach Deabay tied the game in the seventh with an RBI single. Brian Day and Paul Ormsby each added two singles.

Chris Smith hit an RBI triple for Hermon, and Casey Hull singled and scored a run.

At Hampden, Patrick Stephens led off the bottom of the sixth with a triple, then scored the winning run for the Broncos on Nolan Turner’s single.

Stephens finished with two doubles, a triple, and two runs scored. Turner and Harvey Shue each had two singles. Turner had two RBIs and Shue had one.

Chris Foster hit an RBI single to lead the Eagles of South China.

At Millinocket, Travis Deabay hit a two-out, two-run double in the sixth inning to help lead Stearns past Penobscot Valley of Howland.

Tyler Emerson hit an RBI triple for Stearns, and Josh Saucier added an RBI double. Justin Pelkey, Brian Bolduc, and Emerson combined to record 13 strikeouts.

Aaron Saucier hit an RBI double to lead the Howlers, and Bryant Ware singled twice.

Singles by Alex Bottarelli and Adam Laird preceded Long’s base hit.

Brad Bellamare’s two-run homer, Shane Adkins’ two-run single, and Ian Champeon’s sacrifice fly keyed a five-run seventh inning rally by the Ponies that forced extra innings.

Aaron Flannery had a three-run homer for the Lynx and Peter Coggins had a two-run homer and a single. Josh Murchison doubled and singled, and Long had a pair of base hits.

Josiah Richard, Ujiro Sano, and Abe Landry had two singles apiece for Foxcroft.

At Corinth, junior righthander Hilary Haney fired a two-hitter, striking out 12 and not walking anybody, and she also walloped a solo homer and scored both runs as Central triumphed.

Haney walked and scored in the first on Kara Voisine’s two-out single. She homered to left in the third.

Sammi Morin had the other Central hit, a single.

Christin Pelletier doubled and singled for Bangor Christian, and Monica Alexander and Jillian French teamed up on a three-hitter.

Mandy Kennedy’s bloop single to right scored Lydia Fortin with the winning run after Fortin led off the bottom of the seventh with a triple.

Angie Russell had a double and a single for Oak Hill.
