Panel to consider uses for Dover-Foxcroft sites

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Dover-Foxcroft’s promotion and development committee has been directed to make recommendations to selectmen about the relocation of the municipal offices to the former Morton Avenue Elementary School.

SAD 68 is donating the former school and the superintendent’s office to the town once construction is completed on the new SeDoMoCha Elementary School. The new school is expected to be in use next fall.

Dover-Foxcroft residents voted earlier in the week to accept the two properties from the district.

At a special selectmen’s meeting Wednesday, the committee was asked to look into the possible uses of the former superintendent’s office, the relocation of the municipal offices to the former school and the space needed, and the possible uses of Central Hall, which will be vacated. The committee will report to the board at the June 25 meeting.

In other action Wednesday, Dennis Lyford was elected chairman of the Board of Selectmen, and Elwood Edgerly was elected vice chairman.
