I am writing about the service tax that they are trying to pass in the state of Maine. I am appalled that this would even be considered. A service tax will affect all walks of life. I need a haircut and I will pay service tax? I need my car repaired and I have to pay service tax? It’s about time that the Maine residents take control of our own, and this is not the way to do it.
As for the small businessperson, this is again a hardship. With the high taxes already put upon them, now there is more (unnecessary) paper burden. I suppose that the accountants will benefit but also be subject to a service tax.
I am sure there is another way to aid the budget (like perhaps, cut spending). The service tax is a ridiculous attempt to try to fix a mismanaged budget.
