HERMON – Ryan Deane of Winterport didn’t start from either pole position in the final 50-lap Sportsman Pro Stock Series feature race Saturday, but he still won the race and the series.
Deane started at the front of the pack on a lap-12 restart after a penalty bumped polesitters and leaders Scott Alexander of Orrington and Glenburn’s Doug Day to the end of the line.
Deane sped his way to the win and captured the three-race series title by four points over co-lap 12 restart leader Paul White of Corinna, who finished second in the race as well.
John Phippen of Town Hill was third in the race and fourth in the series. Duane Seekins of Stockton Springs was fourth in the race. Greg Morse of St. Albans was fifth in the race and the series.
