The lead headline in the July 19 Bangor Daily News advises “GOP scuttles Iraq troop withdrawal.” Interesting. I study the news.

My understanding of the military and political context of the situation is probably as good as your headline writer’s. The headline could equally have stated, “GOP refuses to condone surrender in Iraq.”

Please limit editorializing to the Op-Ed pages.
