The Bangor Y will celebrate the construction of a new pavilion at Camp G. Peirce Webber in Hampden 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14.
The pavilion, which includes individual changing rooms, bathrooms and a covered picnic area, was made possible by funding from the YMCA Foundation and contributions from many area businesses.
Construction on the pavilion began last fall and was completed in time for the camp season early this summer. The celebration is being held to thank those who contributed to the project for their generous support. Guests will enjoy a barbecue and use of the camp’s pool, playground and ball fields.
The pavilion celebration will coincide with one of the camp’s Terrific Tuesday events being held each Tuesday throughout the summer and ending Aug. 21.
On Terrific Tuesdays, families are invited to bring a picnic and use the camp’s facilities. Terrific Tuesdays are free for Bangor Y members and $4 per person for nonmembers.
