Maine’s Forgues wins NACAC 3K racewalk

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. – Boothbay High School racewalker Matthew Forgues won the 14- to 16-year-old division of the 3-kilometer North American, Central American, Caribbean Developmental Cup race on Sunday with a time of 15 minutes, 7 seconds. Tyler Campbell of Lisbon High School finished seventh in 16:58.

Christie Bernier of Edward Little High School of Auburn was second in the girls 14-16 division with a time of 16:58, trailing the winner by only three seconds. Emily Reed of Mt. Blue High School in Farmington was sixth (18:54) and Lisbon’s Sara Adams finished 13th with a 34:36.

Nicole Court-Menedez of Lewiston Middle School placed fourth in the 2-kilometer girls 11-13 division.
