Montville earns berth in Bay League final series

HERMON – Mike Cummons reached base on a fielder’s choice in the second inning, stole second and scored the eventual winning run on an error to lead Montville past Aerus Electrolux 2-0 in the Bay League Eastern Division final Thursday.

Montville will play Western Division champion Total Life Fitness in a doubleheader on Saturday at noon. If necessary, the same teams will play on Sunday to determine a champion in the double-elimination tournament.

Roland Littlefield singled and hit an RBI double in the sixth inning for Montville and Andy Pooler singled and scored a run.

Andy Pooler allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out nine for Montville.

Phil Cayford allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks while striking out 11 for Aerus. Aaron Brideau and Josh Porter singled.
