Bangor meetings schedule announced

Following is a list of city of Bangor public meetings scheduled the week of Aug. 19-25:

. City Council’s finance committee, 5 p.m. Monday, City Hall, general obligation bonds, bids and purchases of bi-directional amplifiers for police and fire departments, engineering services for Main Street resurfacing, grooming deck mower, utility tractor and carpeting, refund of overpaid taxes, review of policy regarding matured tax and sewer liens.

. Water district trustees, 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, 614 State St., Thomas Hill Standpipe repairs, insurance claim, electrical costs, lead and copper sampling, 2007 forest harvesting plan, 2008 timber inventory, telephone system damage report.

. City Council’s transportation and infrastructure committee, 5 p.m. Tuesday, City Hall, Silverjet Airlines’ standard ground handling agreement, stormwater pollution prevention plan agreement with Telford Aviation, noise and air quality issues for Birch Street and Stillwater Avenue, discussion regarding proposed moratorium on radio, television, communications towers and wind turbines, discussion regarding waterfront development moratorium.

. City Council’s business and economic development committee, 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, City Hall, executive session regarding disposition of BanAir Industrial Park property, tentative developer agreement for parcel in BIA Commercial/Industrial Park.

. Bangor School Committee, 7 p.m. Wednesday, City Hall.

. Planning board, 7 p.m. Thursday, City Hall, conditional use and site plan approval request from Global Rand LLC for self-storage facility at 400 Stillwater Ave., contract zone change request for Bangor Steam Laundry at 125 Fern St.-166 Pearl St., zone change requests from Mike Longo and Judson Grant Jr. for 16.5-acre parcel on Griffin Road and from city of Bangor for land at corner of Exchange and Washington streets, site plan approval request from Maine Saving Bank at 594 Main St., site plan modification request from Bangor International Airport and city of Bangor for parking lot expansion on Godfrey Boulevard.

. Cultural development commission, 7:30 a.m. Friday, City Hall, presentation of proposed Charles Howard memorial, update on annual work plan.

. American Folk Festival opening event, 5:30 p.m. Friday, Bangor Waterfront.
