MEDWAY – The Route 116 bridge over the West Branch of the Penobscot River has been closed for construction.

A temporary exit from Interstate 95 a half-mile south of Exit 244 will be in place for traffic going south on Route 116.

A temporary on-ramp will be constructed between Libby and Birch streets and the I-95 northbound rest area ramp.

The work is being done be Reed and Reed Inc. of Woolwich.
