MAPLETON – A Mapleton man who was badly injured in a motorcycle accident on Hughes Road in Mapleton on Saturday died Sunday morning at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Maine State Police Sgt. David McPherson said Bryan Cyr, 53, died from the injuries he suffered in the crash, which occurred at 12:30 p.m.
According to McPherson, Cyr was riding along Hughes Road on his 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a sharp turn. Cyr veered off the roadway and flipped his motorcycle, which came to rest on top of him.
McPherson said Cyr was pinned under the bike until neighbors pulled the vehicle off him.
He was taken by Crown Ambulance to The Aroostook Medical Center and flown to EMMC on Saturday afternoon.
Trooper Todd Stetson is the primary investigator.
