BANGOR – Laurie Melon scored the winning goal off of a Danielle Larusso assist at 45:44 in the second half to lead Husson College women’s soccer team past Western New England College 1-0 during the Husson Classic Saturday.
Farmingdale State College beat the University of Massachusetts Boston 3-1.
It was the 100th career win for coach Keith Bosley and the Eagles gave him No. 101 on Sunday with a 6-2 win over UMass Boston.
Tatyana Wolterbeek made seven saves on nine shots for Husson on Saturday while Jessica Covino stopped six of 13 shots for 2-2 WNEC.
On Sunday, freshmen Megan Clement and Megan LaJoie combined for four goals and three assists as Husson improved to 2-2.
Clement had a pair of goals and two assists and LaJoie notched two goals and an assist. Caitlyn Butterfield and Michelle Manning had the other goals for the Eagles, who scored four times in the first 11:22.
Amy Sanz and Wolterbeek each had an assist and Jennifer Plourde made two saves on nine shots.
Thomas 6, UM-Machias 1
At Waterville, Brittany Morin scored four times to lift Thomas over the University of Maine-Machias Saturday.
Julia Nyitray and Marisa Prickowicz both added a goal for the 3-0-1 Terriers. Lindsay Thornton and Kayla Lessard combined for three saves on four shots.
Sara Rushforth scored for 0-3-1 UM-Machias. Alicia Schmidt blocked 17 of 35 shots.
Lady Bengal Kick-Off Classic
At Fort Kent, Maine Maritime Academy took two 1-0 wins in the Lady Bengal Kick-Off Classic. The Mariners beat the University of Maine-Fort Kent on Saturday and UM-Presque Isle on Sunday.
University of Kings College beat UM-Presque Isle 1-0 on Saturday and UM-Fort Kent and Kings College played to a 3-3 double-overtime tie on Sunday.
In Saturday’s second game, Diane Manatt-Rogers scored on a penalty kick in the 10th minute for the Mariners. Lacey Jackson stopped three of five shots. Liz LaPlante made seven saves on 12 shots for UMFK.
In Sunday’s second game, Megan McKay scored in the fifth minute off of a Marat-Rogers assist for the 4-0 Mariners. Jessica Stahl turned away three of four shots. Martin blocked eight of 13 shots for 0-3 UM-Presque Isle.
William & Mary 1, Maine 0
At Williamsburg, Va., Claire Zimmeck scored at the 105:14 mark in the second overtime to lead William and Mary past the University of Maine Sunday.
Jasmine Phillips made eight saves on nine shots for Maine.
Meghan Walker stopped one of four shots for William and Mary.
St. Joseph’s 3, UM-Farmington 1
At Farmington Sunday, Brianna Jordan and Anna Willis scored 8:14 apart in the second half and Katie Jordan added an insurance goal as St. Joseph’s College of Standish erased a 1-0 deficit and improved to 3-0. Katye Mayo finished with one save on four shots.
Jackie Mrazik scored off a direct kick in the first half for 0-1 UMF and Melissa Demerchant made three saves on 10 shots.

USM 3, Framingham 2 (2OT)
At Gorham, Cristina Corson scored on an Alyssa Kraus assist at 95:24 in the second overtime to lead the University of Southern Maine to victory over Framingham State College Saturday.
India Lowe and Jennifer Massessa scored for the 3-0 Huskies with Alyson Lumino providing both assists. Allie Hill made six saves on 10 shots.
Steph Bourgeois stopped 14 of 24 shots for Framingham.
Maine 3, Northwestern 1
At Orono, Courtney Veinotte scored a goal and assisted another to lift the University of Maine over Northwestern University Saturday.
Maire Dineen and Brooke Anderson added goals for the 1-4 Black Bears and Jackie D’Amato assisted Veinotte’s goal. Rebecca Giroux made eight saves on 15 shots.
Alex Quinn scored an unassisted goal in the second half for 3-2 Northwestern. Emily Kyle stopped seven of 15 shots.
Husson 5, Simmons 1
At Bangor, Erica Dorso scored two goals to lift Husson College over Simmons College Saturday.
Skye Ellis had a goal and an assist for the 1-0 Eagles. Erin Nason and Emily Scholis both added a goal. Elisah Dorso had two assists and Dana-Jo Gardner also provided an assist. Kelly Bocchino made eight saves on nine shots.
Cammy Keiler stopped five of 14 shots for 1-2 Simmons.
Volleyball
Maine loses two
At New Haven, Conn., Kaira Kachadurian had 13 digs and 26 assists to lead the University of Rhode Island past the University of Maine 30-21, 30-20, 32-30 Saturday. Yale University also beat the Black Bears 30-16, 30-22, 30-21.
In the first game, Ashlee Wright had 13 digs to lead Maine and Lindsay Allman added nine kills and eight digs.
In the second game, Allman led the 1-9 Black Bears with eight kills and six digs and Jessica Wolfenden chipped in 13 assists.
Men’s soccer
Northeastern 4, Maine 0
At Brookline, Mass. Sunday, Greg Kilkenny picked up three assists and four different players scored as Northeastern beat Maine Sunday in NU’s home opener at Parsons Field.
Both teams are now 1-3.
Mahmoud Talaat and Kyle Zinter made three saves each for NU while Nemanja Kostic had five saves and allowed all four goals for Maine before Ben Piotrowski came on and made one save.
NU outshot Maine 19-12.
Thomas 3, UM-Machias 1
At Waterville, Tyler Simpson, Tim Costa and Ryan Hamm scored to lead Thomas College past the University of Maine at Machias Saturday.
Russell Beckwith made seven saves on 14 shots for 3-1-0 Thomas.
Tom Eulenback scored on a penalty kick for 0-3-1 UM-Machias. Adam Mauro blocked 11 of 19 shots.
Worcester State 2, USM 1
At Gorham, Matt Brothers scored an unassisted goal at 86:01 in the second half to lead Worcester State College to victory over the University of Southern Maine Saturday.
Sinisa Bajic scored at 23:26 in the second half on a Eddie Weddington assist for 3-1-0 Southern Maine.
UM-Presque Isle Kick-Off Classic
At Presque Isle, the University of Maine-Fort Kent picked up two wins in the UM-Presque Isle Kick-Off Classic. UMFK beat Maine Maritime Academy of Castine 4-0 on Saturday and the Bengals beat Nova Scotia Agricultural 9-1 on Sunday.
UMPI defeated Nova Scotia Agricultural 6-0 Saturday and MMA and UMPI played to a 2-2 tie in two overtimes on Sunday.
In Saturday’s first game, Andre Anderson scored two goals for UM-Fort Kent. Sean Favreau and Dwayne Smith both added a goal. Derek Plourde stopped all five shots.
Randy Bartlett made 11 saves on 15 shots for Maine Maritime.
In Sunday’s second game, Alan Alexander scored two goals in the final 14 minutes to tie the game at 2-2 for 0-2-1 Maine Maritime. Dan Hassett and Derrek Belanger provided assists. Bartlett made 10 saves on 12 shots.
Robert Allan scored an unassisted goal and Joseph Pinault had a penalty-kick goal for 1-2-1 UM-Presque Isle. Clenchy had four saves on six shots.
Bowdoin 4, Husson 0
At Brunswick, Nick Figueiredo scored a goal and assisted three others to lift Bowdoin College over Husson College of Bangor Sunday.
Tim Prior had a goal and an assist for 2-0 Bowdoin. Miguel Dominguez stopped 16 of 28 shots for 0-4 Husson.
Unity 3, Hesser 2
At Manchester, N.H., John Korkos scored two goals including the game-winner 23:22 into the second half on a Jack Van Dyke assist to lift Unity College over Hesser College Sunday.
Pat Hunt scored with a minute left in the first half off of a Nick Shown assist for 1-0-1 Unity. Ross Caron and Keith Sidle combined for eight saves on 10 shots.
