Tigers’ Shaw nets winner Fort Fairfield tips Hodgdon; CAHS rolls past Easton

HODGDON – Maryl Shaw scored the winning goal seven minutes into the second half to propel the Fort Fairfield girls soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Hodgdon on Thursday.

Kaitlyn McLaughlin and Courtney Churchill scored unassisted goals in the first half for 6-4-1 Fort Fairfield. Kristen Hebert stopped 13 of 17 shots.

Kerriann Estabrook scored both goals for 2-8-1 Hodgdon. Samantha Lycette assisted the first goal. Emily Jurson made 16 saves on 22 shots.

Central Aroostook 6, Easton 1

At Easton, Alexandria Dame scored two goals to propel Central Aroostook of Mars Hill to victory over Easton.

Robin Graham, Shelley Hallett, Miranda Levesque and Latisha Reed scored one goal apiece for the 7-6 Panthers. Ashley Estabrook made three saves on four shots.

Kilynne Beaulieu tallied an unassisted goal for the 2-12 Bears. Taylor Burtt made 23 saves on 29 shots.

George Stevens 3, Bucksport 0

At Blue Hill, Alida Peake scored a goal and assisted another to lead George Stevens Academy past Bucksport.

Maddie Park and Lexi Wessel added goals for the 4-0-1 Eagles. Stevie Theoharidis assisted Wessel’s goal. Sarah Gunneldal turned away all four shots.

Stephanie Bridges made seven saves on 10 shots for 2-2 Bucksport.

JV: GSA 2, MDI 0

Washington Ac. 7, East Grand 0

At East Machias, Bri Nicely scored three goals and assisted on another as Washington Academy improved to 5-0.

Andi Flannery had a goal and an assist and the other goal scorers were Kayla Wood, Alice McBride and Irene Lewey. Lewey and Wood shared the goaltending with Lewey making three saves on six shots and Wood making one stop on three shots.

Courtney Lloyd made 23 saves on 35 shots for 0-4 East Grand of Danforth.

Orono 3, Piscataquis 0

At Guilford, Lauren Wheeler scored an unassisted goal in the first half and assisted on a second-half goal by Ruth Mares to power undefeated Orono to victory.

Devon Riley recorded a first-half goal for the 4-0 Red Riots with Mares recording the assist. Brittney Pinkham saved all five shots she faced.

Jill Martell had six saves on nine shots for 3-1 Piscataquis Community.

JV: Orono 2-1

Dexter 2, Central 1 (2OT)

At Corinth, Sarah Atwater scored the winning goal on a penalty kick with less than a minute left in the second overtime to lift Dexter over Central.

Anna Fournier scored the first goal about a minute into the game on an Atwater assisted for the 4-1 Tigers. Ashley Ricahrdson stopped 20 of 21 shots.

Kristie Collins tied it at 1-1 on an unassisted goal in the second half for 1-3 Central. Jana Philbrick and Jess Daniel combined for 10 saves on 14 shots.

Boys soccer

Central Aroostook 3, Easton 1

At Easton, Logan McCarthy had a goal and an assist to lead Central Aroostook to victory.

Manny Martinez and Logan Thomas each added a goal for the 6-4-2 Panthers, while Blake McCarthy chipped in with an assist.

Brad Trask scored an unassisted goal for 10-4 Easton.

Tyler Rusby made 15 saves on 24 shots for Central Aroostook. Jeremy Brock made 15 saves on 28 shots for Easton.

DI-Stonington 3, Searsport 1

At Searsport, Eben Powers converted on two penalty kicks to lift the Mariners past the Vikings.

Collin Ciomei added an unassisted goal for Deer Isle-Stonington. Joe Carter had six saves on seven shots.

Searsport goalie Daniel Peach blasted home a penalty kick, and recorded six saves on nine shots.

Machias 2, Shead 0

At Eastport, Jacob Stevens scored just 2:44 into the first half for the Bulldogs’ eventual game-winner.

Matt Marshall assisted on the goal. Mike Little added an insurance goal early in the second half.

Justin Weaver made seven saves on 14 shots for 4-0-1 Machias while Dave Medeiros made 14 stops on 17 shots for 0-4 Shead.

WA Raiders 5, Narraguagus 2

At Harrington, Milos Gautier scored twice to lift the Raiders of East Machias past the Knights.

Joey Hunter, Tim Barnes and Juan Valdez added goals for 3-0 Washington Academy. Josiah Jackson made six saves on eight shots.

Jean Carlos Gonzalez and Kris Green scored for 1-3-1 Narraguagus. Brandon Meserve turned away six of 11 shots.

Ellsworth 4, Hermon 0

At Ellsworth, Zach Emeigh scored two goals to lead the Eagles past the Hawks.

Moritz Bohm and Garrett Kaspala tallied a goal apiece for 2-1-1 Ellsworth. Pate Kelley and Luke Haskell each added an assist. Greg Berry and Jordan Carter combined for seven saves on 10 shots.

Cory Johnson stopped 12 of 20 shots for 1-3 Hermon.

JV: Ellsworth 2-1

Dexter 2, Central 2 (2OT)

At Dexter, neither Dexter’s Chris Eastman nor Central’s Tyler Pineo allowed a goal in two overtimes after the Tigers and Red Devils played to a stalemate through regulation play.

Rick Stewart tied the game at 2-2 on a Lee Gustin assist with 27:20 left in the second half for 3-0-1 Dexter. Ethan Woodman scored an unassisted goal with 38:11 left in regulation. Eastman stopped 11 of 13 shots.

Scott Kelley scored on a penalty kick with 35:17 left in regulation for 3-0-1 Central and Ryan Bean made it 2-1 with 28:07 left on an unassisted goal. Pineo made 12 saves on 26 shots.
